School Board Trustee Ben Johnson has served the Alvord Board of Education for fifteen years. During that time the district has experienced positive advances in academics and facility improvement at all schools in the district.
In addition to his service as an Alvord Trustee, Ben has a legacy serving our community. He is a committed citizen who has already established himself with a distinguished record of volunteer and community service efforts. His dedicated volunteer work has earned him recognition as the recipient of the Outstanding Citizen Award for Riverside County, and the Volunteer of the Year Award from the JC Penney Points of Light Program.
His service to the community is not limited to the Alvord community. Ben has served in a variety of leadership and service roles including the Riverside Community Health Foundation, Vice-Chair of both the Human Relations Committee and the City of Riverside Charter Review; a member of the Riverside Blueprint for Diversity, Raincross Group, a member of the Board of directors for the Youth Service Center; Director of Homeless Outreach and President of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Alumni Association.
As current economic constraints continue to affect school district budgets throughout California, we need Ben’s proven leadership and demonstrated ability to exercise responsible fiscal restraint, while protecting valuable staff and teacher jobs, and continue improving students’ educational experiences.
